Silver State Schools Credit Union (SSSCU) is proud to announce that Scott A. Arkills, President/CEO, has been selected as a 2024 Credit Union Times Luminary Award Finalist for setting the industry standard in Credit Union Executive Leadership.
The Luminary Awards shine a spotlight on individuals and organizations that are driving positive change in the Credit Union movement. Mr. Arkills’ recognition reflects his ability to inspire action, foster innovation, and create meaningful programs that benefit not only our members but also the greater Southern Nevada community.

Among the many milestones achieved under Scott’s leadership are:
- Expansion of Financial Literacy Programs: Partnerships with local schools to empower students and parents with Financial Literacy and Financial Wellness.
- Community-Centered Programs: The A+ Educators Program and the Annual Teacher Car Giveaway bring attention to the invaluable contributions of our local educators.
- Commitment to Innovation: Implementation of new technologies like video chat, voice calls, and text-to-chat to improve operational efficiency and empower members to bank when, where, and how they want to.
Mr. Arkills’ passion for serving others goes beyond the workplace. He actively participates in several boards, demonstrating his belief that strong communities are built through engagement and service. His board membership includes:
- President of the Education Communication Council
- Andson Foundation Board
- Nevada Succeeds Education Board
- Vice Chair of the Nevada Credit Union League
- Nevada State Financial Literacy Council
- Nevada Credit Union Advisory Council
